Training the next generation of Surgical Podiatrists
The ACPS delivers an accredited, competency-based postgraduate training pathway in podiatric surgery. Training generally takes approximately six years and includes supervised clinical experience, surgical education, research, examinations and formal assessment.
The training pathway prepares practitioners for advanced specialist practice. Fellowship requirements and statutory specialist registration are separate processes.

Who can enter the training program?
Applicants must meet the Collegeā€™s published eligibility requirements. The selection process considers professional registration, knowledge, clinical experience and suitability for a demanding postgraduate training program.
The official eligibility criteria and Candidate Compendium will remain available in full. Training positions are limited and selection is based on merit.

Recognition of prior qualifications and experience
Podiatrists with relevant Australian or international surgical education and experience may apply for assessment of prior learning or advanced standing.
Decisions are made individually under College policy. Recognition of prior learning does not automatically confer Fellowship or Australian specialist registration.
