Affiliate Membership

The ACPS offers a separate Affiliate membership category to registered podiatrists who may wish to gain broader clinical experience within a mentored environment, expand the scope of practice and or develop skills that will assist an application into a surgical training program.


ACPS affiliates receive benefits such as:

  • Priority access to ACPS-sponsored courses and continuing professional development

  • Access to scheduled medicines training

  • Assist Members of the ACPS at operations*

  • Access to the affiliate member's area

  • Membership Certificate


*Those candidates seeking to assist Members of the ACPS must also complete the ACPS BSSET course.

Requirements

Affiliates can be podiatrists or other health practitioners with an interest in foot and ankle pathology. In addition, other non-health practitioners may be considered for affiliate membership, as the selection committee consider appropriate. Affiliates are non-voting members of the ACPS.

Membership is valid for one year and must be renewed annually. The membership year begins on 1st January and ends on 31st December of each year. The annual membership fee for the ACPS Affiliate Membership is $381.00 (AUD).


Selection and Training

All potential candidates for the ACPS Training Program must obtain a basic familiarity with the ACPS and its work, including making contact with podiatric surgeons in order to gain an appreciation of the role and work of a podiatric surgeon.  Affiliate membership with the ACPS is a requirement for Application for Registration for a Training Position.
