Admission
to the ACPS
There
are currently three categories of membership within the Australasian College
of Podiatric Surgeons (ACPS).
Registrar
Registrars
of the ACPS are podiatrists that have been granted entry into the ACPS
surgical training program. The Registrar admission requirements for the
ACPS include a Bachelors Degree in Podiatry, State Registration, a minimum
of two years clinical experience, a pass in a number of post graduate core
units, and acceptance into an approved Masters Degree. Once a candidate
has successfully completed the requirements of the College to become a
Registrar (trainee) a supervisor is appointed and he/she is then able to
undertake Fellowship training. Please note that the ACPS does not
guarantee that positions within the practical training program will be
available at any given time. Availability of training positions
depends on various factors and all positions are highly competitive.

Fellow
Fellows
of the ACPS are podiatrists who have completed all stages of their ACPS
surgical training program and are competent to perform foot and ankle
surgery. Registrars seeking Fellowship of the ACPS must undertake a supervised
practical training program with satisfactory completion of a range of
assessment tasks including the completion of a Masters degree (Research
or Course-work) approved by the ACPS, and pass the Final Examination.

Honorary
Life Member
The
status of Honorary Life Member may be conferred on a Fellow who has rendered
extraordinary service to the ACPS.
